Do you think when Mathias accepts himself he will rekindle his friendship with Erik? Even if he thinks he can’t have him he might feel like it’s more manageable to be around him

No I don't see him going out of his way to be close to Erik anytime soon. Or even wanting to be friends with him to begin with. The Matherik era 2.0 will definitely be initiated by Erik and he will come to his senses in season 4 and realize he wants to be with Mathias
